Getting Your Apostille in New Jersey
New Jersey has a strict and sometimes complicated process for obtaining an apostille. If you need an apostille for your New Jersey documents, but don't have the time or patience to navigate the process yourself, we can help.
Understanding the NJ Apostille Process
To get an apostille in New Jersey, you must submit your original documents to the Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services. You have three options for submission:
Expedited In-Person: Submit your documents at the Customer Service Counter in Trenton between 8:30 am and 2:00 pm. Arrive early, especially if you're walking in. Aim for 8:30 am to avoid long waits. You'll need to check in with security, get a visitor's pass, and then head to the 5th floor. Take a number and wait to be called. Have your online order confirmation ready.
Expedited Delivery Service: Use a service like UPS or FedEx to deliver your documents to the same address.
Regular Mail: Mail your documents to PO Box 452, Trenton, NJ 08608. This option takes the longest (12-20 business days).
Remember, you need to submit a separate online request for each country where you'll use your documents.
Common Mistakes to Avoid:
Not bringing notarized personal documents.
Improperly notarized documents.
Submitting photocopies of vital records (you need originals).
Not having your online order confirmation ready.
Improper payment options. You cannot pay in Cash!
Notary Signature must be ink!
